Diversions...

Web Sudoku I'm hooked, are you?

Pocket Mod My favorite throwaway organizer.

SOBiCS School Game Indescribable, highly addictive block-busting game

The supply of shirt photos is exhausted at last. I've learned volumes from this exercise, and Mr H is happy with his new shirts. I feel as if I've completed some momentous project--and I suppose I have.

The blue oxford remains unfinished. It has something to do with my sewing one of the sleeves in wrong-side out. That's corrected (one golden hour of Star Trek completely wasted) and I'm down to the buttons and buttonholes, so it shouldn't be long now. I made a template for marking the buttonhole positions on shirt fronts and sleeve cuffs, so that is a speedier process. Also, I bought one of those buttonhole cutter sets from Atlanta Thread & Supply (NAYY).

The chisel looks like just the trick for cutting them open safely. I've always lived in fear of cutting the stitches when using my seam ripper for the job. My fear is not unfounded--I have cut stitches many times, most recently on Mr H's navy blue shirt. That shirt is back in the sewing room for an emergency buttonhole repair.

So, what's next?

  • The remainder of the blue oxford cloth will become a shirt for me! I want to reinforce my new-found collar tricks, and I'm hoping to do a little rounded back work like Cynthia Guffey demonstrated at the Expo.
  • I've drafted a new bag for myself similar to this one at PatternReview. I want to make a quick sample, but I can't seem to choose any fabric. Fabric paralysis
  • Kwik Sew #3301, the bra and panty set, is waiting for me to get back to it. All the fabrics I pulled for that pattern are still decorating the dining room lower sewing room.
  • Tomorrow we are shopping for fabric for the next banner. This one is for our District UMW meeting--and it will not be coming home with me! (write that down)
