Battling the Bulge(s)

Friday, February 24, 2006

Three or four times a week, I put on shorts and head for the gym to ride the recumbent bicycle for 30 minutes. I sweat like the proverbial pig and am so exhausted I can barely drag home afterward. This has been going on for the past 11 weeks. (I've got the stars pasted onto my calendar to prove it!)

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and had gained 7 pounds in the last 9 weeks. My waistline is 1/2 inch larger, and my derrierre sticks out like a shelf. I am not happy.

All I can figure is that my fat-storage manager is an ultraconservative, sadistic meanie.

"Wait, no! Don't process that! She might need it for the bicycle tomorrow. Put it right here--layer it along this gluteus maximus."

"Hey, you there! Bring that cookie over here. I've got a space for it right here under the belly button."

"You got some nuts? Shovel them over there by that hip bone..."

<Sigh>

I can emphathize with you. I have been going to Curves two to three times a week since October. I have not lost any pounds. I have lost some inches. My fat % was down, until last week.

Please remember muscle weighs more than fat! Even though I haven't lost any weight, I do feel healthier.
