On the casette player...
Florida Straits by Laurence Shames
Just when I think I've listened to all the Shames books that our library system has, I visit the tiny library near my house and find *this* one! Yay!
Last year I participated in one of PatternReview's Sew-alongs for men's shirts. The (what do you call a male "diva"???) of men's shirt sewing, David Page Coffin, commented on the shirt I made for Mr H on that board. I snagged the image he drew and it is in my blog here. Needless to say, I was delighted that he had made suggestions in such a clear way and worked hard to incorporate them into my next two man-shirts.
It's been a while since then, and Mr H is asking for more shirts. He knows how to get me--he bragged on my shirt-sewing at a party we went to last Friday.
Now I've got to make new shirts to uphold my reputation.
I found a nice brushed navy poplin and a soft blue oxford, then hunted up the folder full of my various traced copies of Kwik Sew 2777. Most of them are documented so that I know which shirt I made from which version of the traced pattern.
Mr H, much more observant than I would have given him credit for being, noticed what I was doing and trotted upstairs. He comes back with the very shirt that DPC drew on and says "Make me another just like this one."

Good fit lies in the opinion of the fittee.... indubitably.
Um, maybe DPG is the 'guru of shirt sewing'? :p
