Pressing–I’m resisting typing Matters, OK?

My Saturday visit to Expo yielded a few more goodies, not the least of which was meeting up with some internet sewing buddies. A couple of ladies told me that they had read my blog.
Hi ladies! It was a pleasure to meet you.
My other two Lorraine Henry classes were just as good as the first. I can see that a week at a Conselle fitting retreat might be interesting and enlightening–not to mention exhausting. I think she said that those are held in Utah, so it’s doubtful that I would get to go.
But you never know.
I ran around and made my big purchases early to avoid the crush of the crowd later. I bought 3 yards of Kathy Ruddy’s texture weft interfacing first, but the man at Golden Hands Industries took home most of my expo $$ that day. I got a ham holder and a wonderful pressing surface from him.

This surface fits on top of your existing ironing board and is perfect on my wide Wal-M@rt board. It came with a pad and my choice of three covers. With my gravity fed iron taking up so much board space, I really appreciate the extra length this thing gives me. I love it!
Before my first class, I lugged my purchases to the car disappointing some ladies who thought I was leaving. (The parking lot was packed and they were hoping to get my space!) The rest of the day I only bought a couple of pieces of slinky from Emma Seabrook’s husband, some stay tape and a small french curve–all good stuff and small enough to carry in my bag.
All in all, a great Expo experience!
I’ve spent my blogging time for the last few days playing with my new toys–especially the flexible curve and special measuring tapes that I bought on Thursday. I’ll show you some of the things I’ve done with those in a few days.

Looks like you had a great time.
That ironing suface would be really useful – how big is it ?
I would love to go to the sewing expo – and then run into you – what fun!
What fun! I do wish the Expos had more sewing and less quilting, but I underwtand that they have to pack in as many vendors as possible to pay for the building.
