Takin’ it easy

bethh on Dec 17th 2009

This Christmas season has been just as busy as those in years past, but somehow it’s not getting to me the way it usually does.   The Sprout and Mr H decorated a scrawny artificial Christmas tree I found in the attic, and I put out a few more Christmas decorations.  There are a few Christmas trinkets to wrap.

We’re ready.

The sewing is moving along.  I’ve finished my 4-gore skirt and my culottes, but they are too black to photograph in the light that’s available in rainy December.   The floral jumper is ready for its lining and Santa is stuffed and waiting for his head and clothes.

If I get anything sewn this weekend, I’ll report back next week.  Otherwise, I’ll be back after Christmas working on my bedroom curtains.  The redo has been on the back burner long enough.

  1. Beth, I understand. It’s the same way here for me too, but for different reasons. I’m 8.5 months pregnant with my firstborn and university teaching just ended yesterday. There’s more ‘plum tired’ than ‘dances with sugar plums’ around here. Take heart, some Christmases are big, some are small; but all are special, and exactly the way they are supposed to be.
