Ottobre 5/09, #10 Cozy Pinnie, pt 1

bethh on Nov 10th 2009

I’m really pleased with the way the invisible zipper and the back neckline have gone in on this.  The fabric remains a PIT–uh–neck, but I’m through complaining about it.  I’m trying to be a blind follower on this project, which is kind of fun in itself.  I’m trying to read and understand the directions and do only what they say to do before I proceed to the next step.

A few times this hasn’t worked out.  For instance, I have yet to stitch the pockets on the front because of my wonky fabric.  (Oh, wait,  was that a complaint??)  When I’m nearly ready to hem, I’ll find the right place for those.  The pockets are really cute, and I would have made them wrong if I had not been reading the directions carefully.

Here are shots of my invisible zipper from inside and out:

I must say that it was with great trepidation that I started that zipper.  I had bought a regular zip to put in, but in the end decided to stick to my blind-follower plan and proceeded as they directed in the magazine.  It couldn’t have come out any better!

At this point, I don’t know what to do with the raw edges of the armholes.  There are directions in the magazine, but I don’t understand them.  I’ve posted for help, along with a scan of the instructions,  at PatternReview here:

If you have an idea, please go over there and post it–I *really* appreciate it!
